Purpose Statement
FBC aims to bring glory to God by coming alongside local churches by giving kids an opportunity to hear the gospel and respond with Faith in Jesus Christ, as well as study the Word of God so that they may grow in their sanctification, all in an exciting environment at an affordable cost!
Statement of Faith
The Scriptures
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments together comprise God’s inspired Word. They
are without error, and their teaching and authority are sufficient, supreme, and final
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:3, 21).
God
There is one true and living God. He is the creator of all things, and perfectly holy, just, and
loving, and exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
(Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Corinthians 8:4).
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God who took on human flesh by being conceived of the virgin Mary. While on
earth he lived a perfect sinless life so that he could willingly pay the penalty for the sins of the world by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of God (Matthew 28:6; John 1:1; 3:16; 1 Peter 2:24).
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity. At the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit
indwells the life of the new believer. His ministry is to convict of sin and empower the believer to live for God (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 16:9; Galatians 5:22-25).
Man
Man was created by God to worship and glorify him. Because of the sin in the Garden of Eden, all human beings are born with a sinful nature. Therefore everyone falls short of living
according to God’s standard and are condemned to eternal punishment in Hell and in need of the atoning work of the holy perfect Savior Jesus Christ through the shedding of his blood
(1 Corinthians 10:31; Romans 3:23; 5:12).
Salvation
Salvation is by grace through faith, and not of works. Salvation is freely given to those who
repent of their sin and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as a willing sacrifice to pay for the punishment of their sin (2 Peter 3:9; Luke 5:32; 13:3; Romans 6:23; Titus 2:11-14; John
3:14-17) and believe he rose from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 14-21). True saving faith is evidenced by a turning from sin, Christlike desires, godly attitudes and good works in the life of a believer (Matthew 3:2; 4:17; Luke 5:32; 13:5; Galatians 5:22–24; Ephesians 2:8-10).
The Church
We believe in a local and universal church which is made up of followers of Christ. The local
church is a portion of the universal church which is in place to provide teaching, discipleship,
fellowship, and corporate worship. The mission of the church is to grow believers in
sanctification and evangelize the lost (Colossians 1:28, Ephesians 2:19–22, Matthew 28:19–20).
